I had high hopes when I flew into Puerto Princesa last Aug. 2 because I was booked into the Paboreal Boutique Hotel rated Excellent by Trip Advisor. But when... read more we turned into a dirt and deserted road, I thought, "Oh, oh," this does not look good. Things got worse when I went into my room and saw untiled floors. When I simmered down and looked around, I realized it does merit the title. It also made me realize that there are things worth commending than shiny floors, and beautiful front desk girls, or a stately concierge. Paboreal has none of those. But it has a lot to make up for these shortcomings. For one, Paboreal is located far away from the maddening crowd and noise. It is so peaceful, quiet and serene, it brings you closer to your soul. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and resorts in my life - big and small, high end and low end, but they never made me feel sad upon leaving.
Paboreal Boutique Hotel has a certain aura that cannot be found in others. And this makes up for all the little "eyesores," that I saw when I checked in.
I checked in with a heavy heart, I checked out sad that I am leaving. More

We visited Puerto Princesa exactly a year ago and stayed on this beautiful place. We cannot fault anything on this place, the staff were very helpful and hospitable they go... read more above and beyond to help. The place is very clean and the room that we stayed in for a week was well furnished and very spacious. Stayed on this place with my husband and two teenage children, the boy particularly is very hard to pleased but all I heard from him was praises to this place. According to them this place is underrated, they haven’t been to any place with such friendly staff. The breakfast is simple but my boy said it was insanely good. And to top it up, the owner was very accommodating and advised us where’s the best places to buy pasalubong.
If we plan to go back to Palawan, we would definitely choose to stay in Paboreal again. More

Pros:
- Very polite, charming and helpful staff
- Safe environment, great security
- Perfect shower, towels, room layout
- Unbelievable pillows, mattress, duvet
Cons:
- Location. Although, staff... read more were quick to provide transport!
- Location had air pollution, burning leaves nearby, dangerous air quality for asthma suffers, although NOT the fault of the hotel, this is a problem all over Puerto Princessa it seems, and the staff even managed to get nearby locals to stop burning leaves specially for me, which shows how much they cared. five star!

The Paboreal Boutique Hotel had by far the best room and hosts of our entire Phillipines trip. The rooms were clean, modern and you can tell alot of detail went... read more into the design, the shower room was also top notch! The staff were friendly and very accommodating and helped organise our trip around Honda bay aswell as transfers to the airport. Would highly reccomend if you decided to visit the beautiful island of Palawan.

My friend and I stayed 2 nights in this Hotel. I somehow missed it was gay oriented hotel but even as a heterosexual I encountered no issues whatsoever, just missing... read more female guests being around. It is a small resort with pool, check in/out hassle free. They organized for us trip to Sabang and also private transport to el Nido. Smoking just outside of hotel, breakfast small and basic, room huge, bed comfy, didn´t have a chance to take a dip in their pool. Location is somewhat awkward, there´s not too much around the resort and you should take a tricycle - very cheap though.
